Fritzl’s house of horror to be demolished this week

Incest monster Josef Fritzl’s house of horror is to be torn down this week. The house on the Ybbsstrasse in Amstetten, Austria, became a world-wide symbol of evil when it was revealed that perverted Fritzl had kept his daughter Elisabeth there as a sex slave for 24-years in a secret dungeon under the family home. The liquidator in charge of winding up Fritzl’s estate, Walter Anzboeck, has been given permission to demolish the property this week under the direction of builder Manfred Heigl.Planners at Amstetten City Hall approved his application to pull down the house in a secret closed session – and at the same time ordered builders to fill in the basement for ever. The plan also involves special barriers designed to stop the demolition being filmed by the media. Details of the plan were leaked to the local Austrian Times newspaper even though the council had tried to keep it secret.Amstetten Mayor Herbert Katzengruber acted after being reportedly furious earlier in the year over what he described as “media lies” that teens were regularly entering the cellar dungeon.Referring to reports by British newspapers, Katzengruber said: “How deep can our society sink? In what sort of world are we living? I’m deeply shocked.”The Austrian politician said the stories were “disgraceful and mad”Amstetten officials had spent a small fortune before the Fritzl story broke promoting the town for a type of pear schnapps distilled locally – but the efforts were in vain when overnight Amstetten become the town that was home to evil incest monster Fritzl. Now day trippers are more likely to come to visit the House of Horror on Ybbsstrasse than to visit local distilleries.Fritzl’s properties are being sold off to pay back millions he owes to banks in mortgages and loans but there has been no buyer for the house on Ybbsstrasse. The house remains the final grim resting place for one of the seven children Fritzl – now serving life in prison – fathered by his daughter.Evil Fritzl allowed the infant boy to die of breathing difficulties rather than seek medical help – and then tossed the tragic tot’s body in the house’s incinerator. The ashes were then scattered in the garden behind the property.Fritzl, 76, raped Elisabeth countless times during the incarceration in the underground rooms where she bore all seven children. The 43-year-old and her kids are living in a remote town in the Austrian countryside today. Her torturer was arrested in April 2008 and sentenced to life in jail in March 2009.Fritzl is serving the sentence in Stein prison in Krems.
