Casino and hotel help out farm for people with disabilities

A farm that aims to offer mentally and physically disabled people the chance to work on the land has been given a 2,500 Euro boost from Casino Salzburg and the spa and wellness hotel Ebners Waldhof.

The Mathiashof farm located at Ellmautal in Fuschl am See gives employment to 20 people with either mental or physical handicaps. The project has the aim of allowing those living there to be involved in meaningful work with a variety of jobs available to take into consideration the various disabilities of those on the programme.

The aim of the project is to help people with disabilities to be more independent in their everyday lives.

Gerold Wuehrer, manager of the Mathiashof project, says that the facility is to offer people with disabilities a new home, and they are able to not only make a real contribution to the project but also enjoy all the benefits of being in the countryside.

In order to help the facility financially Casino Salzburg staff and the spa and wellness hotel “Ebners Waldhof” arranged charity evenings which came up with the cash.

Junior hotel manager Thomas Ebner says that everybody should help each other out as far as they can, which is the reason for them to organize a casino charity event.

In the end casino manager Wolfgang Haubenwaller, Herbert Ebner and his daughter Stefanie Ouvrard-Ebner were able to hand over a check for 2,500 Euros to the Mathiashof inhabitants Niki Genser and Gerold Wührer.
