Paraglider injured in meadow crash

A 36-year-old man was injured yesterday (Sun) afternoon when his paraglide crashed into a meadow shortly after he had taken off in Kürnberg in Lower Austria’s Amstetten district.Police said the man, from Upper Austria’s Steyr district, had failed to make use of the wind after a tension line in the left wing of his paraglider failed to function properly.In another incident in Lower Austria, a 47-year-old and her 12-year-old daughter from Neunkirchen district had to be rescued by helicopter around 5pm yesterday while descending Rax mountain after they lost their way and became stuck in a steep, rocky area.
