The Styrian spring has arrived – of all places in the Vienna Rathausplatz.
From today 12 April until 16 April everything in the town hall square will be decidedly Styrian.
Alongside traditional Styrian music the bands will also be accompanied by a violinist and there is also a tap dancing group from Krieglach/Alpl.
The whole area which hopefully has the flavour of a typical Styrian village also has other attractions such as the opportunity for visitors to enjoy a glass of traditional Holundersekt “Hollerdaro”, and the region of Oberen Mürztals has arranged for an information stand letting people know about the fantastic holiday opportunities in the region.
The project is part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of the advertising campaign for the region as the green heart of Austria.
At the official opening Styrian Landeshauptmann Franz Voves (SPÖ) as well as Vienna’s Bürgermeister Michael Häupl (SPÖ) will be present followed by the official opening of the beer taps by ski racing legend Hans Knauss.
