Ski jumping ground: 27 percent more expensive

The ski jumping complex in Tschagguns (Vorarlberg) will cost 27 percent more than the planned 12 million Euros.

The regional president Harald Sonderegger (ÖVP) said the extra 3.2 million Euros are due to the bad ground conditions.

The figure includes 400,000 Euros for damages caused by the extreme weather conditions of June. Project officials are currently negotiating this sum with various insurance companies.

An actual 2.8 million Euros are thus still missing to cover the total cost of the project.

According to Sonderegger, that amount is just below the “worst case” figure. Only 12 million Euros were initially agreed in the budget.
