The currently ranked world number 37 Paszek, 21, from Dornbirn in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg won against Italian Vinci 6-2 6-2 after 63 minutes of play.

She is now the first woman to qualify for the next round.

This will be the second successive Wimbledon quarter final for Paszek.  She will face either Wiktoria Asarenka from Belarus or Ana Ivanovic from Serbia.
