Ried keep the lead

SV Ried have retained the top spot in the Austrian Bundesliga.The team of Paul Gludovatz beat Magna Wiener Neustadt 2-0 at home on Saturday while second-placed Sturm Graz only reached a goalless draw against struggling title holders Red Bull Salzburg yesterday (Sun).The Bulls are in sixth after just five victories so far this season. Rapid Vienna, who came third last year, are doing even worse. The side managed by Peter Pacult are in seventh after their 2-2 draw against Mattersburg on Saturday.Vice champions Austria Vienna improved one spot to third place by crushing Kapfenberg 5-1 on the same day.The match between  LASK Linz and newly-promoted Wacker Innsbruck ended goalless on Saturday. It was the first time Georg Zellhofer was in charge for the LASK squad after club president Peter Michael Reichel sacked Helmut Kraft.The Bundesliga will continue with four matches on Saturday before Wacker clash with Austria Vienna on Sunday (kickoff: 4pm; live broadcast on ORF 1).On Wednesday (kickoff: 8.30pm; live on ORF 1), the Austrian national team will play a test match against Euro2004 champs Greece at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium.
