Court official accused of passing on seized drugs
A juridical official has been put in custody for providing his sister with confiscated drugs.Officials in Vienna said today (Tues) the man was arrested and suspended as deputy head of the citys Criminal Court. Internal investigations were started after several kilograms of seized cocaine disappeared in recent months. The main suspect is accused of having given the illegal substances to his sister, an addict.Reports from today have it that the man had accomplices at the court. Authorities announced that investigations would continue.The news comes shortly after several court officials were suspended for corruption.Daily newspapers revealed on Friday that 23 people working for juridical authorities across Austria must brace themselves for disciplinary procedures or court cases over their wrongdoings.
