Cows trample hiker
A 52-year-old hiker had to be airlifted to a clinic after being attacked by cows.The man from Hart near Graz, Styria, tried to walk past a herd of cows at the provinces Hochschwab region when the heifers trampled over him after his dog started barking at them yesterday (Weds).A crew member of the ÖAMTC rescue chopper fleet said today: “We had to scare the cows off with sticks and stones, but they came back several times.”He added that the hiker now recovering at a hospital in Bruck an der Mur suffered serious leg injuries in the incident.This comes weeks after a 30-year-old woman was attacked by a protective mother cow after her three dogs started barking at the calf in Vordernberg, Styria. She suffered head and internal injuries.
