Cancer sufferer ‘beaten senseless by policeman’

A cancer-suffering Viennese claims he suffered serious injuries when he was beaten up by a policeman after complaining about an unjust parking ticket.The man’s lawyer Marcus Januschke said today (Thurs) his client was attacked by an officer outside a station in Vienna-Floridsdorf.”The assault occurred out of the blue,” Januschke claimed, adding that fresh post-surgery had been ripped open as the policeman allegedly “beat the bowel cancer sufferer senseless”.A spokeswoman for police in the capital announced: “The man has complained about fines several times.”She claimed he failed to come up for charges of several hundreds Euros, adding that a police-internal committee has started investigating the alleged incident.Vienna prosecutors meanwhile said they also began looking into the case.
