‘Porn Hunter’ announces anti-Life Ball demo
An activist dubbed The Porn Hunter has said he will hold a counter-demonstration against next months Life Ball.Austrian Martin Humer said today (Fri) his Christlich-Soziale Arbeitsgemeinschaft Österreich (CSA) movement will take to the streets in front of the Burgtheater in Vienna on 17 July to “peacefully” protest against the HIV/AIDS awareness event taking place on the same night.Humer, who has been nicknamed “The Porn Hunter” by the Austrian press, said he opposed the city officials decision to give the green light to hold a side event of the ball at the tradition-rich theatre.The campaigner – who has repeatedly been arrested and fined thousands of Euros during the past decade for various activities such as defacing progressive art – branded the Life Ball a “big party of the homosexual community”.Humer claimed they would try to gain “gentrification” of society by taking over the Burgtheater after years of celebrations at the Vienna City Hall.Hollywood actress Whoopie Goldberg and former US President Bill Clinton will take part in the 18th edition of the Life Ball next month which was attended by singer Katy Perry, model Marcus Schenkenberg and many other international celebrities in the past.This years Life Ball the biggest HIV/AIDS awareness event in the world will kick off the 18th International AIDS Conference which will take place in the capital between 18 and 23 July. Tens of thousands of experts and people suffering from AIDS and HIV are expected to attend the congress.
