‘Torched prostitute’ suspects arrested

A Romanian man accused of setting a prostitute on fire in a feud over protection money payments was arrested yesterday (Weds).Vienna police said today Adrian Bogdan “Cretu” Negrei, 29, from Cluj-Napoca has been put in custody after a team from the special police unit Cobra stormed a flat in Alsergrund district yesterday.Officials said another wanted man suspected of being involved in the brutal incident in front of the “Fantastic” night club in Vienna-Favoriten around one month ago was also caught last night.Nico Negrei, another suspect and a cousin of the main suspect, was arrested in Dutch capital Amsterdam last week.The trio is accused of pouring an inflammable substance over 35-year-old prostitute Florentina M. when she refused to pay up.The Romanian woman is still recovering at a clinic in Vienna, and doctors said she will be disfigured all her life due to the third-degree burns she suffered in the incident.
