International Christian School marks Day of Tolerance

Vienna’s International Christian School will hold a seminar in support of the UNESCO International Day of Tolerance on 15 November.

The seminar will address the topic “Engaging the Cross-Cultural Generation” and be led by cross-culturalist and rhetorician Michael Gates, who has worked with top-tier institutions worldwide including Nokia, Microsoft and the Austrian Office of the Chancellor.

Director of the International Christian School James Devenish said: “It is a great privilege to have Mr Gates, who has trained governments and businesses around the world challenge our audience on how best to communicate with the ever-growing number of young people we call the cross-cultural generation.”

The seminar will take place in the newly opened Korea Kulturhaus which is located behind the Vienna International Centre and will be hosted by the South African Ambassador Xolisa Mabhongo and the South Korean Ambassador Hyun Cho. There are 100 guests from the world of diplomacy, academia and international business invited to participate.

In keeping with the cross-cultural theme, there will also be Japanese appetisers, traditional South Korean musical performances and South African art on offer. This artwork will be exhibited by Vienna’s Benedict Gallery and will be available for purchase.

The event has been organised with the help of students from Vienna’s University of Applied Sciences.

Tickets are charged at 15 euros each and ticket enquiries should be emailed to Pearl Williams at events@icsv.at.
