Tamburitza band enters Guinness Book of World Records

A Croatian band famed for their Vienna concerts has entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest tamburitza orchestra in the world.The “100 Tamburasa” orchestra features 100 of the most-prominent tamburitza players, Croatian Times reports.The orchestra is unique because the players and conductors sing the vocal parts of concerts. It performs in Croatia and abroad throughout the year, and its concerts in Vienna have been pulling in the crowds for years.The tamburitza is a member of the long-necked lute family, popular in Eastern and Southeastern Europe, particularly in Slavonia in Croatia.
