Mazda is recalling more than 600 cars in Austria, it has been announced.Motorists organisation ÖAMTC said today (Tues) the Japanese company was asking 601 Austrian drivers of 1.8 and 2.0 litre Mazdas to have their cars checked for possible engine failures.ÖAMTC explained Mazda models produced between June 2009 and last April were affected by the callback, adding that the potentially needed repair work should last  no longer than 40 minutes.Only in October, Mazda’s key rival Nissan decided to recall 3,283 cars sold in Austria over fears that an electronic device could cause a sudden outage of the motors’ engines.
