Siemens Austria supervisory board welcomes new arrivals

Infineon Austria head Monika Kircher-Kohl has joined the supervisory board of Siemens Austria.The company, a subsidiary firm of German technology and health industry firm Siemens AG, said today (Mon) that Kircher-Kohl and Austrian Industries (IV) General Secretary Markus Beyrer will succeed Albert Hochleitner and Johann Haider.Infineon Austria, the Austrian branch of German semiconductor producer Infineon Technologies AG, has around 2,500 employees. The firm improved its turnover by 47 per cent in the 2009/2010 business year to 423.7 million Euros. Infineon Austria said recently it wanted to invest 100 million Euros in its facility in Villach.Meanwhile, Siemens AG board member Brigitte Ederer has been asked to advise the German Social Democrats (SPD) on economic-political issues. German newspapers reported last week that the former Austrian Social Democratic (SPÖ) state secretary had agreed to join the SPD’s new economic politics council consisting of around 50 members.Wolfgang Hesoun, former head of Austrian construction firm Porr, succeeded Ederer at Siemens Austria earlier this year while Carinthian Peter Löscher has headed its German parent company for three years.
