Companies flocking to Lower Austria

The number of companies settling in the province of Lower Austria is on the rise, it has been announced.Provincial councillor Petra Bohuslav said today (Thurs) 30 companies settled or expanded in Lower Austria in the first quarter of this year. The People’s Party (ÖVP) politician said this number was a 50 per cent year on year increase.Bohuslav claimed 750 jobs had been created or secured by these activities.She added: “Especially in economically different times, it is important to offer perfect circumstances to companies.”And it seems the province has done well since the Austrian Management Club’s “Standort RADAR” (business location radar) study revealed Lower Austria as the second-most popular of Austria’s nine provinces after Upper Austria when it comes to attracting investors.Economic agency ecoplus reported another 116 requests by firms interested in settling in Lower Austria so far this year.Bohuslav meanwhile said it was remarkable that an increasing number of Vienna-based companies have opted of relocating to Lower Austria recently.
