Truck crashes into church
A 51-year-old tank lorry driver sustained serious injuries when he crashed against a church wall around midday today (Tues).The man was hospitalised in Horn after the incident in Untermarkersdorf in Lower Austrias Hollabrunn district. Police, who plan to question the driver as soon as he recovers, are currently trying to find out whether a technical failure or human error was the reason for the crash.No one else was harmed in the accident, according to officials who explained that the local Catholic church was empty when the vehicle ploughed into its outer wall. The truck was seriously damaged in the crash, they added.The accident occurred only a few days after an elderly driver ended up in a supermarket after mixing up the pedals. Neither the 76-year-old woman behind the wheel nor any staff or customers at the Billa shop in Wels, Upper Austria, were injured in the incident.
