New coach for Scharner

Austrian national team star Paul Scharner is to get a new manager at his club.West Bromwich Albion bosses announced today (Fri) that former Fulham FC and Liverpool coach Roy Hodgson will take over from Roberto di Matteo who was sacked after the team’s 0-3 defeat against Manchester City last Saturday.Hodgson and Liverpool parted company last month. He had been at the helm at the side for only half a year.The 63-year-old signed a two-year contract with West Bromwich who secured Scharner’s services ahead of the current season. The 30-year-old midfielder previously played for Wigan Athletic and Norwegian top-flight side SK Brann.West Bromwich lost 13 of their past 18 matches. The team, who are currently 17th in the 20-team English Premier League, are set to clash with West Ham United, who are bottom of the table, tomorrow.
