English community church Xmas bazaar

The Anglican Church of Christ Church, Vienna, will be holding their annual Advent Charity Bazaar this year on 17 November.

The Church which has a multi-ethnic congregation serving Anglicans of varying ages from around the world is located in central Vienna at Jauresgasse 17-19 off the Rennweg.

It has a regular Sunday service at 8am and 10am with an additional Six O’Clock service  and it also runs a second-hand shop at Salesianergasse 20.

This year the Bazaar will take place between 10.30 and 16.00 at the Bundesamtsgebäude at Radetzkystrasse 2, 1030 Vienna.

As well as a plentiful selection of food there will also be pictures, jewellery, clothing, toys and games, thousands of books, CDs and DVDs, a Tombola and Christmas cards and Christmas crackers. The First Prize in the Raffle is an iPAD2, with many other attractive prizes.

An English Pub will serve Ploughman’s Lunches and a range of whiskies will be available at the Whisky tasting stall.

Entertainment includes a Scottish Piper and Norbert the Penny Farthing Cyclist performing for the crowds as they wait, the Church Choir singing carols and North and South playing Scottish melodies, together with The Vienna Scottish Dancing Group dancing Highland Reels.

For the youngsters there is face-painting, Sculpture Balloons and a visit by Santa as well as the Children’s Corner.
