Another underage teenager freed in red light raid

Police in Klagenfurt arrested a 15-year-old Romanian girl who was a victim of forced prostitution after a series of raids on the red light scene in the city.

Police said that the teenager had been forced into prostitution and was severely traumatised by her ordeal.

But they said that the girl had managed to get a good lead on a band of traffickers that have been involved in bringing under age Romanian women into the country mainly into Klagenfurt and Villach where they were forced into prostitution.

A police spokesman said that the gang would target young girls from socially disadvantaged backgrounds in particular where they had an older sister. The girl would then get the older sister’s passport to allow her to travel into the country on the promise of a job usually as a housekeeper or au pair – but once here were forced into the red light scene.
