Driver does 152 kph in residential area

Police have decided not to arrest a drunken driver – although the man bombed along a road in a 50-kilometre-per-hour (kph) limit zone at more than 150 kph.

The boozed-up man was caught going at 152 in Hörsching near Linz, Upper Austria, yesterday evening (Sun). He failed to stop when a police car followed him. Instead, the traffic offender turned off the car’s headlights and backlights and sped through a 30 kph area at around 100 kph.

The drunken motorist had to hand over his driving licence when policemen eventually convinced him to pull over. No one was harmed during the street chase.

The man faces charges for breaching traffic laws. However, he was not put in detention.
