Italian girl injured in motorway crash

A young child has been airlifted to hospital after a traffic accident this morning (Fri).

The minivan of a group of seven Italians came off the A2 southern motorway near Modriach in Styria. The tourists are understood to have been heading to Vienna.

A girl – whose age has not been given by officials – was taken to a clinic by chopper. She suffered undisclosed injuries while the other passengers got away with bruises.

Police explained that the driver may have nodded off shortly before the accident.
