Silo plunge puts man in clinic

A 37-year-old man was hospitalised with undisclosed injuries after falling into a silo in Pöttelsdorf, Burgenland.The worker was ordered to close a ventilation shaft on the silo’s roof on Monday. He slipped and fell around 10 metres after refusing to follow company rules and use a safety belt. His landing was softened by a few cubic metres of cereals.The man complained about pains in his chest. He was taken to a clinic in Eisenstadt where medical authorities refused to give information on his condition today (Weds).
