Tobacconist struck down with stun gun

A clerk at a tobacconist’s suffered minor injuries when she was attacked by a robber with an electroshock gun.The criminal – who is being sought by police – asked the woman to unlock a glass showcase of lighters before striking her down with a stun gun. The 43-year-old bit the robber in the hand after recovering from the blow in the incident which occurred at a newsagent’s in Vienna-Meidling on Tuesday.Police said today the felon escaped with a “small amount of cash.”Dozens of tobacconists have improved safety measures at their shops in recent months amid soaring numbers of robberies. Many installed CCTV systems outside the stores in a bid to scare away criminals, while others decided to arm themselves.
