Worker buried by collapsing treetop

A 57-year-old forestry worker had to be hospitalised after he was hit by a falling treetop in woodlands near Horn yesterday (Weds).The man from Geras, Lower Austria, was buried by hundreds of kilos of branches for some minutes before colleagues managed to free him. The frail treetop reportedly collapsed after the workers cut back trees surrounding the affected one.Fire-fighters transported the injured man out of the forest before he was airlifted to a hospital.One day earlier, a 41-year-old hobby gardener sustained serious injuries when he fell four metres from a tree in his garden in Wolfurt, Vorarlberg.
