Police prevent rented Mercedes entry into Hungary
Police prevented three suspected car thieves from escaping into Hungary
with a rented Mercedes worth 31,000 Euros last night (Thurs-Fri).
Burgenland police said today they had arrested the 25-year-old American
male driving the car, a 41-year-old Romanian man and a 31-year-old
Romanian woman at a former truck rest stop on the eastern motorway (A4)
near Nickelsdorf in Burgenlands Neusiedl am See district.
Police added that the firm that had rented the car to the American had
said that the contract had forbidden the cars transfer out of Austria.
Police said the two men are in detention in Eisenstadt, the woman in jail in Wiener Neustadt.
