Listeriosis bacteria fish taken from shelves

Austria has been hit by another case of food containing Listeriosis bacteria.HMF Food Production announced today (Tues) the listeria bacteria have been discovered in its Almare Seafood smoked salmon on sale at discount supermarket Hofer. The company stressed that the products were inedible, adding that customers who bought it will be refunded.Hofer, which belongs to German company Aldi, has removed all possibly affected products from its shelves across the country.At least four Austrians and two Germans died after eating cheeses containing listeria produced at Upper Austrian company Prolactal’s plant in Hartberg, Styria, last year. Police and state prosecutors have been investigating the occurrences.
