Escaped cows take a dip

Three runaway cows went for a splash at a public pool in Tyrol this morning (Fri).The animals, two mother cows and one calf, grazed at the local pool after escaping their fenced meadow at a farm in Oberau – and jumped into the water-filled pool when 30 fire-fighters tried to catch them.All three heifers were eventually rounded up unharmed and returned to their owner.A Carinthian farmer is, meanwhile, recovering from internal injuries she sustained when two protective mother cows turned on her some weeks ago.The 49-year-old woman was taking her four-year-old son and daughter and their dog for a walk on their pasture near Glödnitz when the heifers charged and ran her down.
