‘Forest cash hunter’ arrested
A man caught on CCTV looking for hidden cash in a forest near Niklasdorf, Styria, has been tracked down by police.Chief investigator Karl Köck said the 45-year-old man told officers he had pocketed 100,000 Euros in a business deal before quitting his job at a Kapfenberg-based company. The suspect claimed he buried 70,500 Euros after panicking when his former boss launched a probe into past company activities after finding out about illicit handlings.Köck said the man who is in custody faces further interviews as only 59,400 Euros were found in the hideaway last month.Investigations were intensified after a CCTV camera set up to observe wildlife activities in the area caught the man crawling around the forest apparently looking for something.
