Saturday evening saw the annual SPÖ ‘Kanzlerfest’ take place in the Austrian capital of Vienna.
The gala took place at the Altmannsdorfer Garten Hotel in the Vienna district of Meidling.
Despite it being the holiday season and record breaking temperatures of up to 40 degrees, 2,000 guests attended the gala.
Werner Faymann took the lead, attending without a tie and taking off his suit jacket and guests gladly followed. Vienna’s mayor Michael Häupl attended in a casual polo shirt.
Famous faces from the world of politics, business, culture and society attended the event such as the boss of the Vienna Festwochen Markus Hinterhäuser, the Chair of the Vienna Islamic Community Fuat Sanac, actresses Elke Winkens and Franziska Weisz, pantomimer Samy Molcho as well as musician and director Reinhold Bilgeri, actor Dietrich Siegl and sport legends Karl Schranz and Trixi Schuba.
Guests were entertained by the bands “Akustik Balkan Trio” as well as Vienna band “Fatima Spar and the Freedom Fries”.
