Graz and Linz up hotel prices

Hotel prices in Graz and Linz are on the rise, a comparison portal has found.Travel website Trivago (www.trivago.co.uk/hotelprices) announced today (Thurs) that a standard double room in the Styrian capital Graz – Austria’s second-biggest city – cost 110 Euros per night in October, up from the previous month’s 103 Euros.The website, which compares hotel prices all over the world on the basis of 160,000 daily price inquiries, also found that hotels rates in Linz, Upper Austria, rose by five Euros between September and October. In the latter month the average price was 97 Euros.Meanwhile hotels in the city of Salzburg are on average charging the same amount this month as they did in September (118 Euros).These figures come days after Trivago found that a standard double room in Austria cost 115 Euros per night this month, up by three per cent compared to the previous month. According to Trivago, an average double room in the federal capital Vienna costs 137 Euros in October, twelve Euros more than the month before..Around 46.58 million overnight stays were registered across the country between May and August of this year. This is a 1.1 per cent improvement compared to the 2009 summer season.
