Stereophonics lined up for Vienna gig
Welsh rockers Stereophonics will perform in Vienna this summer, it was announced today (Fri).Music news website Britishrock.cc reports that the award-winning four-member band are lined up for a performance at the Arena on 6 July. The gig could be the bands only show in the country this year as they will perform at several European festivals but at none in Austria, according to current line-ups.Stereophonics fronted by raspy-voiced singer Kelly Jones rose to stardom with their second album “Performance and Cocktails” in 1999 after their debut “Word Gets Around” from 1997 had already given them a wide fan base.Five of their seven studio albums topped the UK album charts, while their most recent record “Keep Calm and Carry On” failed to enter the top ten.It was also reported today that seven-times Grammy Award winner Al Jarreau will perform at the Salzburg Congress on 4 July, while it was announced earlier this week that American rockers Alter Bridge will rock Viennas Gasometer on 22 November before coming to Linz for a gig at the Posthof on 27 November.Other upcoming live music delights are the concerts by AC/DC (22 May, Wels), Supertramp (8 September, Vienna) and MGMT (8 December, Vienna).
