Grass sking World Championships Begin

The junior World Grass Sking Championships was opened in Rettenbach, Burgenland in Austria yesterday evening (Weds) for the third consecutive year.

Keen skiers from ten countries will battle it out to become grass ski champion.

The Austrian Ski Team is represented by six skiers from four provinces, including Kristin Hetfleisch, Lisa Wusits and Andreas Guttmann.

The Austrian team is hoping for five or six medals from the grass ski championships where skiers use grass slopes as ski pistes.

Over 6,000 spectators are expected at the event which lasts until Sunday.

The races begin today (Thurs).
