Tennis scandal: Koubek throttles Köllerer

Former tennis ace Stefan Koubek has been disqualified in his match against Daniel Köllerer after an on court punch up at the national Austrian tennis league.Koubek, 33, lost his rag one set down and began hurling abuse at the 26-year-old Köllerer before charging over to him waving his racket.The two men began shouting at each other before Köllerer knocked Koubek’s racket out of his hand and called him a wanker.Koubek then grabbed Köllerer around the throat. He later said: “I’m man enough not to let myself be insulted, especially not by him.”Now a Youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-btFWv3-yH4) has surfaced showing the attack.Koubek who is facing a four week barring was immediately disqualified by referee Werner Hötzinger and the match was cancelled.As he left the court, Köllerer was jeered and whistled at by spectators while Koubek was applauded.1,000 spectators turned out to watch the match in Gleisdorf.
