Women’s Run Vienna a boost for health and tourism industry

Around 20,000 women are expected to take part in the 23rd Frauenlauf women’s run at Vienna’s Prater park next month.A new record was set last year as more than 18,000 registered participants took part.The tourism industry is expecting a boost from the 30 May event too since runners from 70 different countries led to soaring booking figures at the capital’s hotels.The registration for the event which offers a 10-kilometre and five-kilometre run as well as a five-kilometre Nordic Walking competition recently started at www.oesterreichischerdmfrauenlauf.atOrganisers of the Vienna City Marathon (VCM) meanwhile announced a new world record will be set on 18 April since 10,000 people registered for the event’s relay race.
