A New York hairstylist has set up business in Vienna offering a door-to-door service specially tailored for men too busy to make it to the hairdressers.
American Tom Tailor, 31, has plenty to offer to clients thanks to a wide ranging experience abroad at locations that were a cut above the rest.
He said: “I gained my experience in the United States, working for top salons such as Warren Tricomi in the Plaza Hotel and the Toka Salon in New York and Safar Coiffure in Boston.”
With an email or phone call Tom will visit clients in their hotel, business or home taking the stress out of the need to fit the experience into a busy schedule.
Although there are mobile hairdressers Tom’s service is the first tailored specifically to male clients that offers a fully qualified and professional hairstylist available to visit, whether it’s in the morning or night, just for a haircut, or a style for a special occasion.
With over 10 years of experience as a hair stylist, Tom decided to cut hair on the go as he noticed that most men really don´t have the time to come to the salon.
He said: “I set up T.O.M, which stands for The Original Man, because I wanted to provide a convenient, practical and time saving service.”

His fascination for hair started at an early age. Travelling with his father Tom was taken by the image of an old men cutting hair underneath a tree, his client seated on a rusty chair.
“Seeing that man, so happily working, I decided I wanted to do that too. I started cutting hair at the age of 9. I cut my sisters hair, my moms, my cousins. In my teen years I left the scissors aside and worked in restaurants but when I left for the US at the age of twenty I somehow ended up cutting hair again. I was modeling as well to make a living. Being in the New York fashion scene, working for Click models and Major models New York, I got the chance to take a close look to the worlds trendsetters and formed my own sense of style”.
Overseas Tom discovered his true talent: mens hair.
He said: “I know what men want, I know what suits them and I have the skills to deliver exactly that cut.”
