Europe’s Biggest Garden Show in Austria

Vice Chancellor Dr. Michael Spindelegger has opened the 59th international gardening festival in Tulln and praised the impressive floral arrangements at what is now Europe’s biggest flower show.

Under the motto “A floral trip through history” the best Austrian gardeners and tourists presented their creations depicting different eras in a floral way.

The designers come up with a wide variety of subjects from the Roman through to Baroque and Judendstil,  Renaissance and Gothic, the Middle Ages through to ancient Egypt and even the 70s. Every prominent was of course the flower power generation and the Woodstock Festival.

There were impressive arrangements involving roses on the carousel and many of the visitors commented on the scent from the many flowers on display.

The flower show is running from 23 August through to 27 August and open daily at the Messegelände Tulln from nine a.m. to 1800.

Entry adults cost 11 euros, nine euros for pensioners and students and youngsters aged between six and 15 can get inside for just two euros. Children younger than six get free entry.
