Language institute celebrates third birthday
Vienna was treated to a “Carnival of Languages” last week as a language learning institute celebrated it’s third year in the city with an public event, including free classes and workshops.
The Eton Institute Vienna put on dozens of activities at their third birthday event in the Vienna City Centre, including translating typically Viennese songs into proper German and learning a language through acting.
The public descended on the event to sample some of the activities and learn about the work the international institute carries out in the heart of Vienna. The Eton Institute provides courses for more than one hundred languages, from the popular German, English and Chinese courses to local languages to small communities around the world.
They use a method they call the ‘Eton Institute Method’, which follows the idea that 80% of any conversation is based on 20% of the language, and lessons focus on getting students learning that 20%.
Visitors on the day dropped into free workshops, professional development sessions, and language classes and also improve their business soft skills with trainings.
Of course, there is no birthday without a cake and at lunch time the Institute celebrated a cake cutting ceremony across the continents together with the Dubai headquarters.
