New furniture at Viennas Museumsquartier

New furniture has been put out ready for the summer at the Museums Quarter (Museumsquartier, MQ) in Vienna.

The summer furniture is blue this year – as voted in an online-poll last February. For the first time, there are also parasols for the popular lounging seats. These can be rented from the Aloha Bar daily from 10 am to 10 pm from July.

The existing furniture will be sold as part of the “Ab-Hof-Verkauf”. Anyone wishing to purchase one of the pieces can register their interest on the MQ website and specify their favourite colour. The buyers will be drawn at random from the list of interested parties.

The summer season was kicked-off in May at the MQ, with its boccia field and the “aquadrome” water basin.

There will also be open-air readings every Thursdays at 8.30 pm between 11 July and 29 August at various locations – under the title “O-Töne. Aktuelle Literatur aus Österreich” (English: current literature from Austria). The readings will be held in the Arena 21 in the event of bad weather.
