Suspected ski thief arrested
The police apparently solved several ski thefts in Obertauern, state of Salzburg. Additionally, an artillery shell was discovered when clearing out a garage in Salzburg-Maxglan yesterday (Tues).
An explosives expert from the police determined that the shell is practice ammunition and no longer had a detonator. The de-mining service will remove the artillery shell.
In regards to the investigations of the ski thefts in Obertauern, the police made some progress. A 31-year-old Hungarian woman accused her husband of having stolen 40 pairs of skis since 2009.
The 55-year-old mother of the man is said to have stored the skis in Hungary and sold them on there. The police could prove that the man has committed five ski thefts. They are investigating further.
