Police release image of bald hair thief

Austrian police have issued a photo of a bald man who has been cutting the hair from young girls before running off with his trophy.

The attacks have mostly taken place in Feldbach in Styria, Austria, where the hair cutter has been carrying out his hair raising activities for more than 20 years.

In the latest incident a 36-year-old woman was walking with her five-year-old daughter and her seven-year-old son when the unidentified men came up behind the family holding scissors.

He cut off a section of the girls hair and then ran off. Eyewitnesses described the man as being aged between 30 and 40, about 1.70 tall and very thin with a pale face. He was wearing white sport shoes, blue jeans and a sweatshirt and a white baseball cap.

The last time the attacker struck was almost exactly a year ago when there were three separate incidents in the same region where young girls had small amounts of hair cut off.

The man targeted children around kindergartens and schools.

In total since the 1990s they had been more than 30 similar incidents in the same area.
