Pedestrian hit by tram

A 54-year-old woman suffered severe head injuries and multiple fractures when she was hit by a tram in Vienna this morning (Weds).The resident of Brigittenau district was knocked down by a line 38 tram in the district of Döbling when she attempted to cross the road without looking out for traffic.The driver of the public transport vehicle pushed the emergency brake but could not avoid hitting the pedestrian. She was transferred to a clinic. None of the tram’s passengers nor its operator were harmed in the accident.Only last week, a 62-year-old woman had to be hospitalised when she was knocked down by a 38 line tram in the city.
