Dutch skier dies after hitting tree

A Dutch holidaymaker died after coming off a skiing slope and crashing against a tree.The 37-year-old died before a team of paramedics reached the scene, according to police in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Salzburg. The man died of serious internal injuries and multiple fractures in the incident which occurred yesterday morning (Weds).The tourist has been the 15th person to die in a skiing or snowboarding accident in the province of Salzburg so far this winter.The fatality comes just a few days after a 43-year-old skier from the Netherlands sustained serious head injuries as he hit a tree after jumping over a ledge on a slope in Rauris, Salzburg. The man is recovering at the UKH Clinic in Salzburg after the accident last Sunday.
