Vienna woman knocked down by tram

An elderly woman has sustained serious injuries when she was hit by a tram.Wiener Linien, the company in charge of public transport services in the Austrian capital Vienna, said today (Tues) a 62-year-old woman was hospitalised with a traumatic brain injury.The firm explained the woman stepped on the tram tracks in Alsergrund district without checking for oncoming traffic at around 8am this morning. She was pushed to the ground by a line 38 tram wagon. None of the public transport vehicle’s passengers were injured in the accident, according to Wiener Linien.Only yesterday, the driver of a tram was slightly injured when a coach crashed into his vehicle in Vienna’s Innere Stadt district.
