Romanian skier dies after jump
A Romanian holidaymaker was killed after leaping over a ski-jump yesterday (Mon).The 35-year-old woman was skiing down a piste in Kirchberg in Tyrols Kitzbühel district. She reportedly crashed against a snowboarding half-pipe after skiing over the jump set up for skiers.The tourist was already dead when a team of paramedics arrived via helicopter some minutes after the crash. It has not been announced whether she was wearing a ski helmet.Only on Saturday, a skier from Sweden died after he jumped over the edge and down a rocky embankment on one side of a slope in St. Anton am Arlberg, Tyrol, with two pals.The 46-year-old died due to the serious internal injuries and broken bones sustained when he landed on his back after the 30-metre jump. His companions sustained slight injuries.
