Edith Mock mugged in Vienna

The wife of former People’s Party (ÖVP) head and Foreign Minister Alois Mock has become the victim of a mugger.Newspaper Heute reports today (Fri) that an unidentified woman snatched the handbag of Edith Mock, 73, on a street in Vienna-Döbling yesterday.The attacker, who is being hunted by police, managed to escape with the bag which contained cash, ID documents and a bank card. Mock remained unscathed in incident, according to the report.The number of felonies reported in Vienna dropped by 9.7 per cent to 105,238 year on year in the first half of this year.A poll conducted last year showed that a vast majority of 82 per cent of the city’s residents believe that officials should do “more” or “much more” to tackle crime.
