Austrian nabbed over secret cannabis plants in the Netherlands

An Austrian and his Dutch girlfriend were arrested after police discovered more than 500 marijuana plants at their home’s attic yesterday (Weds).Officials in the Dutch city of Kerkrade announced today the man, 46, and his 36-year-old partner were accused of illegally selling cannabis. They added a special police squad stormed the house after having received an anonymous tip-off.Police in Maria Laach, Lower Austria, announced only yesterday two officers had found a cannabis farm of 86 plants in a flat after smelling marijuana when they were at the building investigating a different case.The 39-year-old man told police he would not sell any of the marijuana he had been growing as he ran the plantation strictly for personal consumption.
