Sonata Arctica set to perform in Austria in 2011

Sonata Arctica will rock Vienna next year, it was reported today (Thurs).Event news website Britishrock.cc reports the Finnish power metal band will perform at the city’s Szene club on 2 March.Sonata Arctica, who have been around since 1996, released their sixth studio album “The Days of Grays” last year.The live music announcement follows news that Canadian bass player and singer Melissa Auf der Maur will rock the same venue on 1 December this year.The former Hole member – who has also toured with Smashing Pumpkins – released her first record in 2004. The eponymous album was praised by fans and critics. The eagerly awaited follow-up “Out Of Our Minds” came out earlier this year.Other upcoming concerts include gigs by Finnish metal outfit Swallow The Sun (Arena Vienna, 7 December) and German melancholic rock group Element Of Crime (Republic Salzburg, 9 February 2011).
