Linkin Park to fire up Linz
Alternative rock superstars Linkin Park will return to Austria, it was announced today (Thurs).Britishrock.cc reports that the Californian six-member band will perform at the Tips Arena in the Upper Austrian city of Linz on 23 October. The music news website further reports that tickets for the show go on sale on 16 June.The band fronted by Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda, who have performed in Austria several times over the past few years, was founded in 1996 but had to wait until 2000 to achieve their breakthrough on a global level.”Crawling”, the second single from their multi-platinum record “Hybrid Theory”, became Linkin Parks first big chart success. The song won a Grammy Award in 2002.”Minutes to Midnight” from 2007 is the bands third and most recent studio album. Bennington and Shinoda engaged in various solo projects and collaborations over the past few years, but recently teamed up again for a tour.Other top concerts set to take place in Linz are the performance of American folk legend Bob Dylan this Saturday (12 June), British singer Elton John on 19 June and US pop star Pink (8 July).
